Why We Built Dukiani
Dukiani didn't start as a pitch deck. It started with a landlord — one of our own founders — chasing rent over WhatsApp, keeping receipts in a notebook, and finding out about a leaking pipe three weeks after a tenant first complained about it. The spreadsheet-and-WhatsApp way of managing property worked, barely, for one or two units. It fell apart the moment there was more than that to keep track of.
So we built the tool we actually needed: one place to see who had paid, who hadn't, what needed fixing, and who was fixing it. Every feature on this platform was built to solve a real problem in managing real units first — not designed in the abstract and hoped into usefulness later.
That's still true today. Dukiani's Beta runs on founder-managed rental operations before it runs on anyone else's — if it doesn't hold up on a real property with real rent, it doesn't ship.

From Idea to Global Platform
Born from frustration — a landlord chasing rent on WhatsApp. Research into how rent, maintenance and leases actually get managed across Nigeria.
Built five dedicated portals — Admin, Landlord, Agent, Tenant, and Vendor — and tested them end-to-end across Lagos, Ibadan, and Abuja.
Officially incorporated in Nigeria as Dukiani Digital Services Ltd (RC 9700361), and preparing to go live with real landlords, agents, tenants, and vendors.
